The Problem:
The Great American Insurance Group (CAIG) technology developers needed a human-centered app to assist their agents in managing their various specialty insurance products and policies for customers.
Design Goals and Objectives
Conduct user research with business stakeholders to determine requirements and Interface expectations. Competitive analysis and UX/UI design for the application conforming to Material Design guidelines, providing an updated look to the brand identity.

Discussing goals with insurance stakeholders helped me understand the project scope and how to narrow a heuristic design to address challenges and resolve interactive challenges with intuitive and straightforward solutions.
My Role
To re-design and construct the User Experience for Desktop and mobile using existing product requirements in accordance with Great American Insurance sales agents. The current portal was not mobile friendly
Because this redesign is based on an existing digital product, the user-focused needs would be:
A global menu to help agents visually work within the app.
Ability to navigate amongst different areas of Insurance such as Property, Fire, Small business, etc.
Ability to access existing policies and claims in real-time interaction
Working closely between React.JS developers and business stakeholders to ensure what was possible and what areas would be time-intensive

Tools Used
Figma, Illustrator, Photoshop, InVision
Sketches
Mobile Mockups
After testing a couple of iterations of  UI design I create a high-fidelity mockup reflecting data collected during usability testing. within material design guidelines.
Usability Testing
Testing my Figma prototype with business stakeholders confirmed which user flows worked smoothly and where heuristics needed to be improved.
User testing revealed the most valuable feature to be the ability to track claim status, followed by the ability to monitor policy updates and renewal dates.

Above is the sign-in screen
Part of the challenge with the existing agent portal is that some users found the existing application somewhat overwhelming in presenting data and policy information. The challenge was simplifying each policy to allow the user to manage large quantities of policy information separately and organically.
In Summary

One of my biggest challenges on this project was maintaining the requirements of the business stakeholders with the realities of working within the parameters of the developers and the context of the design team. The result was a balancing act of constant communication between all parties involved that resulted in the project's completion on time and within the scope of work benchmark requirements.
